The Children’s Ministry is for children from birth through 6th grade.
Sunday School Classes: 10:00am
Wednesday Classes: 6:30pm
WORSHIP SERVICE
During LBC Contemporary or “Early” Service childcare is broken into two separate rooms. One room is geared toward infants and toddlers to the age 18 months. The other room is for children 18 months to five years of age. During the worship service the children are well supervised and positive socialization is encouraged.
During the Traditional or “Late” Service the children are supervised and positive socialization encouraged in one room. There are Sundays when both rooms are utilized to meet the needs of the children involved. In addition, children in 1st through 6th grade are welcome to attend Children’s Church. During Children’s Church a Bible lesson is presented at an age appropriate level and activities are provided to build upon the lesson presented. The children participate in the worship service held in the sanctuary before attending Children’s Church.
SUNDAY SCHOOL HOUR
Our Sunday school classes contain two grades or ages per classroom. We break our children up with the intent to provide personal attention to every child and keep the learning at the appropriate age level. We ask that children are brought to and picked up from class by an adult.
WEDNESDAY NIGHT ACTIVITIES
Every Wednesday night that Louisa County Public Schools hold classes, Louisa Baptist Church does as well. The children begin on the third floor in one room. As the evening progresses the children are broken out into separate classrooms to provide activities that build on that night’s lesson. There is a nursery provided for infants to 18 months on the first floor.
EASTER CELEBRATION
Before Easter, usually on a Sunday afternoon, the children join together to celebrate all the joys that are associated with Easter. Youth and adults act out a Bible story related to Jesus Christ being raised. The children play games, die Easter eggs, go on an Easter egg hunt, decorate cookies, and make cards for our Homebound Ministry.
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
VBS is held in the evening during the summer. The week begins on Sunday and ends on Thursday with a picnic and overview of what was learned during the week. Each night a delicious dinner is provided followed by an opening ceremony in the sanctuary. Following the brief opening the children break out into age appropriate groups and follow a rotation through Bible “theatre”, crafts, and class. The night ends with everyone conveining in the sanctuary. VBS is a power packed and hands on way to learn about God.
KIDS PASSPORT
During the summer, the children who have completed third through sixth grade attend PASSPORT Kids at Eagle Eyrie. The children have an amazing time learning about God and each other, building lasting relationships, and learning about people in other countries.
FALL
On an afternoon in September or October the children celebrate the wonder of God’s creations through a Fall Festival. The children participate in a hay maze, pumpkin bowling, decorating cards for the Homebound Ministry, and other fall related games and activities.
TRUNK OF TREATS
Although Trunk of Treats is an outreach ministry, the children of our church enjoy the evening as well. Typically the event is held on Halloween night and when weather permits outdoors. The children listen to praise music, enjoy hot chocolate and cookies, and best of all go from “themed” car to car trick or treating in a safe atmosphere.
CHRISTMAS PLAY
Children begin practicing in late October or early November to present the church with their rendition of Jesus’ Birth in December. Everyone loves a children’s play and ours seems to be extra special since we find a way to incorporate all ages of children, including those that crawl if they want to participate.
